Bay Area-based MetriGear has confirmed that they will be releasing a pedal-based power meter at Interbike in two weeks. In a press email, MetriGear describes the system as a "patent pending force-sensing technology that is integrated into the hollow spindle of stock bicycle pedals, and measures power by directly measuring the force being applied to the pedals."
